I write fiction in New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment. I researched my first novel, Requiem in La Paz, while traveling in South America with a string quartet. My second novel, Arcanos Unraveled, brings together fantasy and textiles–two of my favorite things. I’ve also published short stories, poetry, and non-fiction.
I grew up on a sheep farm outside Fargo, North Dakota. Later, I got a PhD and worked as a professor, teaching creative writing in Scotland and film studies in the States. I’m passionate about dark chocolate, fantasy literature, and textile arts.
My last name is Norwegian in origin. Jonna rhymes with Donna, and Gjevre mostly sounds like chevre.
